What is DrinkPrime?
DrinkPrime is a Bengaluru-based company that rents out water purifiers on a monthly subscription instead of selling them. You don't buy the machine. You pay a monthly fee, and installation, servicing and filter changes are handled by the company.
The purifiers are internet-connected, so the company can track the device's health and schedule service visits. Models offered include RO, RO+UV, copper, alkaline and under-the-sink options, depending on your city and water source.
DrinkPrime plans, price and security deposit
DrinkPrime advertises subscriptions starting from ₹349 per month. The final price depends on the purifier type, plan and your city. Higher-end models such as alkaline cost somewhat more.
| Item | What DrinkPrime states |
|---|---|
| Monthly plan | From about ₹349/month (varies by model and city) |
| Security deposit | ₹1,500, refundable on cancellation, subject to terms and device return |
| Installation | Free |
| Maintenance and filters | Included in the subscription |
| Relocation | Free relocation support |
| Trial | 7-day trial (with this referral: 7-day free trial + ₹200) |
Figures are taken from DrinkPrime's own pricing and cancellation pages at the time of writing. Prices, deposits and offers can change, so confirm everything at checkout.
What's included in a DrinkPrime subscription
- The purifier itself, with no purchase cost.
- Free installation by a technician.
- Servicing and technician visits when needed.
- Filter replacements as part of the plan.
- Free relocation support if you move within a supported area.
Plans can include a monthly water limit, with extra water charged per litre on some plans. Check the limit for your plan so there are no surprises on your bill.
DrinkPrime vs buying a water purifier
A good RO purifier often costs ₹15,000 to ₹20,000 upfront, and an annual maintenance contract is commonly quoted at several thousand rupees a year. Subscription spreads that cost into monthly payments.
| DrinkPrime subscription | Buying a purifier | |
|---|---|---|
| Upfront cost | Refundable deposit | Full price of the machine |
| Installation | Free | Often free or a small fee |
| Servicing and filters | Included | Paid, usually yearly |
| Long-term cost | Keeps recurring monthly | Cheaper after a few years if you own it |
| Moving house | Relocation support | You carry the machine |
Rule of thumb: subscription suits renters, people who may move, and anyone who wants zero upfront cost and no maintenance hassle. If you'll stay in one home for many years, buying can work out cheaper in the long run.

A recharge cancelled within 7 days can be refunded for that billing cycle, and any pending charges may be deducted.
